The Kingdom Online Ministry was started in the fall of 1996 as a Christian online community of support for a few physically disabled and homebound people in the Greater Phoenix area of Arizona. Within a few weeks the idea caught fire and people asked to become online partners. and computers were donated by interested persons and groups. Since that simple beginning this ministry has spread across the nation via the Internet. The ministry lifts up Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

The Kingdom OnLiners is a ministry to those with physical disabilities and the homebound - although we do have some temporarily able-bodied as well - providing a daily community of support and inspiration over the Internet. Every day our Devotional Coordinator sends messages of inspiration and personal devotion, testimonies of OnLiners with all kinds of disabilities, quotations from great Christian authors, along with something to laugh about in order to provide a positive and upbeat spin on the day.

Our Prayer Coordinator, Joyce Kistner sends out regular updates on the prayer concerns of OnLiners that are sent to her by E-Mail. We have several dedicated volunteer technicians in the Greater Phoenix Area who tune up the donated computers for use by the OnLiners and install them in the homes including Dave Bassett. Winston Darby is our transportation coordinator. Bill Bjornsrud is the coordinator of humor. Scott Chapman is our web master.

Our devotional coordinators are Charles Pulsipher, Janice McLaren, Mary Cornish, Carol Cooper, our chaplain is Lynda Bouches; our birthday coordinator is Karen Newell.

All computers we provide are donated by interested business people or surrounding churches. Persons outside the Phoenix metro area must provide their own computers and modems and subscribe to an Internet server. Phoenix OnLiners may use the local free net provided by Aztec (aztecfreenet.org) which is hosted by community spirited EMR Data of Phoenix, so that there is no cost to the Kingdom OnLiners, who now have access to any E-Mail address all over the world.

The idea for this ministry was born after I saw one of our local church members suddenly go blind and, without a moments hesitation, built a computer that could talk to him, and he to it. He was an engineer named Bob Richards of Phoenix. That experience prompted the idea that the computer could be used to provide a local network of communication and inspiration to all handicapped people regardless of age, Christian church affiliation or disability.

At the moment we have hearing impaired and severely disabled people from all around the nation, as well as a main core from FBC of Phoenix. We now have over 200 Kingdom OnLiners who not only receive good stuff from us each day but send tons of greetings and blessings to their OnLiner brothers and sisters around the country. This ministry has been written up in Christian Computing Magazine, Church Office Magazine and the computer newsletter at ASU.
