We are getting more and more requests from Kingdom Onliners to share eMail pieces with the online family. Already a number of people have had poetry, humor and devotional pieces published in this ministry. Perhaps the time has arrived to set forth the guidelines that we use in selecting pieces for publication.
- WE encourage all our onliners to share pieces of humor, poetry and devotion with the Kingdom Online community. This is designed to be a ministry of the handicapped and homebound for the handicapped and homebound. It is also designed to be an ongoing ministry of inspiration and support for those who are handicapped and homebound. With these things in mind it stands to reason that pieces used in this ministry must be in step with our mission, and must not overwhelm our onliners with excessive volume and provocative subjects.
- Onliners are requested to limit their submissions to two or three a month in order to provide opportunity for as many as possible to take part, and to provide a diversity of topics and themes. However, where a series of three or more pieces are tied together in an interesting manner, we will certainly consider their use as a united series of pieces.
- Pieces that are not considered for publication include those that deal with vulgar themes or language, those that have political and sectarian overtones or implications, and those that use metaphors which are unpleasant to senior adults. Such guidelines are in keeping with the stated mission of the Kingdom Online Ministry, and are not designed to censor or control legitimate handicap issues.
- Our aim is to share more pieces of information that have possible impact upon the lives and futures of the physically handicapped and homebound. Decisions are being made by state and federal authorities that will change the way our people live and are cared for in years to come. It is imperative that Kingdom Onliners have a share in the ideas and decisions that will touch their welfares for generations to come.
I
invite your response to these guidelines.
